The channel was launched on 23 January 2017 on CBeebies. The show was produced in the UK by Elliott and Alphablocks Ltd and Blue Zoo Animation Studios.
Features of Numberblocks
- It is developed in collaboration with NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching) to strengthen basic math skills.
- In each episode, numbers are taught through short stories, musical numbers and interactive puzzles.
- Math concepts, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, odd-even, shapes, patterns, step-squads etc. are explained through songs or poems.
- It is included in the home learning resources recommended by the UK Department for Education (DfE), and also featured on BBC Bitesize Daily.
- The show is also a great educational tool for parents and teachers – involving active discussion, counting and block-play.
